During the construction of this vehicle I
was required to draw quite detailed plans that would not only serve as record
and guide to myself, but would also act as part of the instructions that I
supplied to others who made some of the components .
Having never created plans before I tried
several CAD packages and in the end opted to use Google
“Layout”, which is part of the Google
“Sketchup” software suite. Layout allowed me to draw the
diagrams with reasonable accuracy and then convert them into layered PDF files
that could be easily sent to others . Sketchup allows you to create 3D images
and drawings. I found this too time consuming and harder to amend .
